What is a Roof Plan?
This is a required as-built plan on most of our projects, particularly residential remodels. A roof plan should show the outline of the roof overlaid on top of the building perimeter walls, and include roof structural details including valleys, hips, ridges, and pitch. Equipment can also be added, particularly for flat commercial roofs.
While your specific project needs may differ, typically these building elements and finished spaces that are visible and accessible during our survey will be modeled orthogonally at a moderate level of detail:
- Skylights
- Parapets
- Hatch and access
- Vent pipes and roof drains
- Deck
- MEP equipment (blocked out at correct location and size, not including functions and runs)

Accurate As-Built Drawings
Existing Conditions as-built drawings provide precise and detailed documentation of a building's design, including dimensions, layouts, and specifications. Using 3D laser scanning and LiDAR technology, we deliver customized, high-precision 2D CAD drawings with 2-4mm accuracy to improve communication and collaboration during design and construction. Accurate record drawings support planning, approvals, and cost estimates, and help to minimize errors and prevent change orders.
