"Progress Set" vs. "Final Set" in As-Built Documentation

Partial vs. full completion in delivering 3D BIM models and accurate as-built documentation

Progress Set (Work in Progress)

At your request, we can provide you with what we refer to as a "Progress Set." These as-built drawing documents and 3D BIM models offer insights into the ongoing development of your project. However, it's important to keep in mind that these materials are inherently incomplete and subject to change. They serve as snapshots of the project's status at the time of the request, allowing you to monitor its evolution. This transparency enables you to stay informed about the progress and any adjustments made along the way.

Complete Set (Collaborative Outcome)

Rather than labeling our as-built documentation as "Final," we prefer to view our work as an ongoing collaboration with our clients. We understand that your project requirements may evolve, and you may have additional as-built drawings or items in mind that extend beyond the initial project scope. For this reason, we use the term "Complete Set" to describe files that encompass all agreed-upon as-built drawings, views, and items within the project's scope. This term reflects our commitment to accommodating your evolving needs and maintaining a collaborative approach throughout the project's lifecycle.

In essence, the "Complete Set" signifies that we've diligently included all elements within the project's defined boundaries. However, we remain flexible and receptive to your input, should you require further modifications or additions to ensure that the outcome aligns precisely with your vision and objectives.

This approach not only emphasizes our dedication to providing comprehensive solutions but also acknowledges the dynamic nature of projects, where adjustments and refinements are often necessary to achieve the desired outcome. Our aim is to empower you with the tools and materials needed to succeed in your project while fostering a collaborative and adaptable working relationship.

We hesitate to use the term "Final". We view our work as a collaboration with our clients, and we understand that you may want additional as-built drawings or items not included in the initial project scope. We prefer the term "complete" to designate those files which include all the as-built drawings, views, and items within the scope of the project.
